Customer Feedback
We are gratified with the level of interest in the CryoClear power cables for
audio/video/home theater systems. Many of these people are repeat
customers, who also pass on recommendations to their friends.
Lieh W (4 Silver-1 Power Cables)
On my system, the Silver-1 gives a revealing and uncolored sound
that is neither bright nor fatiguing. The clarity is probably what
you'll notice on first listen, especially on female vocals because the
music will feel uncluttered, like a veil of noise/haze being removed. An
added bonus is that these cords work equally well on low and high
current components and they're extremely flexible to work with. The
construction is top notch and looks as professional as any of the after
market power cables.

I'd also like to offer praise for Steve's silver power cables. I have now bought 4 of his Silver-1's after experimenting with many after market power cables (some costing much more $$$) over the past year and a half.

power cables, I highly recommend that you give Steve's Silver-1 power cables an audition.

Great power cables at an even greater price! The highest
recommendations.

I have purchased numerous power cables from Steven ..... very much
to my satisfaction. Steven has consistently demonstrated a great deal
of knowledge of and enthusiasm for his products revealing a genuine
curiosity about the underlying dynamics of audio and a great passion
for audio in general.
My interactions with Steven have greatly enhanced my knowledge
of audio and has served to stimulate even greater interest in this
area of esthetic endeavour.
Great audio power cables at an even greater price ! The highest
recommendations.

By no means have I done an exhaustive swap-out to determine the full gamut of
differences available among the wide-range of high-end audiophile power cables. There are other
audiophile power cables on the market that are quite good. Cost is not an accurate correlation
with their sonic results (alas!). But, within the scope of this comparison, the
Silver 1 power cables stand out in ways that are not subtle. The difference is
vivid.

In the past 10 years, I tried lots of different power cables. The price range start from $50 to $1,500. Lots of them give me surprise (on bad side more than good side).
After I know Steve, he ask me to try his Silver 1 and compare with all the power
cables that I use at home.
I used the Silver 1 power cable on the Jadis power amp and I first play with "Jazz at the Pawnshop". This live recording session featured extraordinary musicians and extraordinary instruments. The sound of the well-tuned piano was charming with just a touch of upper-end brightness . . . but not so much that one could not control it with the right microphone and placement. The bass has a "spring" and lower-spectrum authority that captures your ear. Both the sensitivity of the percussionist and his very "musical" drumkit added nuances of accent and color that deserve to be captured accurately.
Since I am very familiar with this recording that I first put the Silver 1 into play - the variables were minimal. It convinces me that Silver 1 power cables open up the dynamic range of whatever recording electronics they feed. I have discovered superior "punch" in music captured with these power cables hooked up at important places in the signal path.
In order to verify that, I swapped cables to compare the difference between Silver 1 and some brand name product. The first substitution, with generic power cables, revealed a significant collapse of sound stage depth and transient length. The next replacement, with relatively expensive power cords (Gutwire C Clef), created a slight (but undismissable) hardness and haze to the entire sound field. The expensive
power cable created a more dynamically engaging recording than the one with a cheap over-the-counter Brand X power cable. And both of these recordings are quite appealing on the own merits. The diminishment of depth and the brittleness that appear with those
power cables would not be easily perceived unless you had, as a reference to illuminate the depreciation, a power cable as revealing as the Silver 1 truly is. I can imagine some instances of recording -- in very reflective acoustic spaces, for example -- where someone may prefer not to use a
power cable that is as dynamically alive as is this one.

It is always hard to find words adequate to summarize sonic differences. If one were to choose a number, perhaps something on the order of 5% greater resolution of signal transients and small sonic details has emerged in the comparative listening I have done here. That is not a huge difference, but it is significant. The contrast I am alluding to is startling not merely because it is vivid upon hearing it, but because the delicacy and detail of information that is enhanced by added dynamic quickness lends a greater degree of relaxation to music captured on CD when these
power cables are support the signal path.
The pleasure of working closely with sound is finding gear like these pieces. I am now ready to try on Steve's refined power cable Silver 2.

Dealing with Steve, I found him customer friendly, knowledgeable about many
audio/video power cables, very focused on the quality and ability for his cables to provide
great value for the money.

I've been in audio for about 15 years now with a system that currently includes Bryston amps and Electrostatic Martin Logan speakers.
Not a lot of audio equipment is available compared to Audiogon in the US, so when I saw some interesting power cables on Canuck, priced below even used expensive
Power Cables, it intrigued me.

I had a broad range of well priced JPS, Belden cables for comparison with Steve's Cryoclear Silver one
power cables.
I expected that all would provide an improvement over stock power cables, yet similar in accoustics to each other.
Indeed the others sounded much better than stock. Though Steve's power cable clearly and dramatically outperformed the other two in both value and absolute sonics. The lower frequencies were more pronounced, articulate. The mids more precise. Most importantly was the change to the noise floor as the
power cables did not colour or allowed unwanted EMI/RF through.
As a result, I've bought a few of the Silver 1 power cables now and am trying them on my other system as well as on my video. I'll provide feedback once completed.
I highly recommend audiophiles at all levels to give the Silver power cables a try.

Just wanted to let you know how excited I am about a new power cord that I am
using which blows my Gutwire away.

Hi there. Just wanted to let you know how excited I am about a new power cord that I am using
which blows my Gutwire away.
I have a $350 Gutwire power cable and was at a stereo shop recently and met Steven. Steven makes CryoClear cryogenically treated power cables and he let me borrow one (the stereo shop owner vouched for me) and let me tell you something... this
power cable is awesome. I have Vandesteen 2CE speakers, 2 monoblocks AntiqueSound Lab tube amps, Antique Sound Lab preamp, HK transport and MSB link DAC111. The CryoClear produced more full bottom end and mids that I thought something new was happening to my speakers.
This is awesome. If you are in the market for an audiophile power cable I strongly suggest you talk to Steven. I
kept the borrowed one and asked Steven to make me 2 more for my mono blocks.
Happy listening.

Ron D (Silver-1 Power Cable)
Steve builds a great audio power cable at a great price. Best power cable I've tried (and I've tried plenty) under $500 - highly recommended!
WW (4+ Silver Power Cable)
These power cables are extremely good. I have compared them with the
Acoustic Zen Tsunami, and they out perform them easily. I sold my three Tsunami
power cables and my Shunyata Python power cord (which was considerably more
expensive). I am now using the same type of power cable that
Steve makes.
JW (4+ Silver Power Cable)
I have replaced all my after market power cables with Silver-1 power cables. This included 3 Gutwire
G-Clef power cables that Steve helped me sell.
Brad P (2 Silver-2 Power Cable)
I think the Silver-2 can be considered a major upgrade to the Blue Circle BC-62
power cables that I currently use.

Thanks for letting me borrow some of your cables. Doug dropped them off on
Friday and I did a fair bit of listening over the weekend.
Here are some of my thoughts: right off the bat I noticed less background noise
first and foremost. Because of that, the subtle details in the background of the
music were heard more clearly. Instruments and vocals were more focused and
distinct. they also seemed to hang on a little longer (making it seem more
realistic).
The music overall was a little smoother sounding, in particular cymbals and
female vocals. Sarah McLachlan in particular, as I always find her voice a
little bright on "Fumbling Toward Ecstasy" and my system is very laid back and
tube like as it is. Quiet passages of music are a little more quiet which is
nice. The last 2 things which are by no means the least important ,but are
important to me, I got the sense of a little more air and space in the sound
stage. And all vocals were a little more human as well, instruments sounded more
like real instruments.
I mainly did my listening with the Silver-2 cable, even though I did find the
less expensive cable as well to be better than my Blue Circle. When i make
changes in my system I want them to be leaps forward as apposed to small steps,
as it is too expensive to make many small steps. therefore, I would rather do
major up grades to my system then small lateral ones. I think the Silver-2 can
be considered a major upgrade to the power cables i currently use where the
Silver-1 is not (yet, still better than my Blue circle).
Just for your interest sake, my system consists of:
- Musical Fidelity Tri-Vista Integrated 20th Anniversary edition.
- Audio Analogue Maestro Cd Player (newest model).
- Dynaudio 1.3SE loudspeakers.
- Transparent speaker cable. Harmonic technology Pro silway 2
interconnect. Symposium roller blocks for CD player Black diamond racing
cones for Amp and power supply and of coarse Blue Circle power line
conditioner and BC-62 power cables.
Nick V (1 Basic Silver Power Cable)
The Basic Silver power cable is sounding fantastic in my system. I'm using it on my Denon DVD-3910 Universal player and it seems as if my system's entire
musical presentation has snapped into focus. This is especially noticeable when playing DVD-A's and SACD's.
Nick V (1 Silver-1 Power Cable, Hubbell Power Bar)
Installed the Cryo outlet and Power Bar/Power Cable into my system on
Thursday. Gave them quite a few hours to burn in and finally did some
critical listening. The biggest difference that I noticed immediately
is that the noise floor is significantly lowered. I had been using a $2 6
outlet wall plug. Now, when I turn my preamp's gain all the way up,
there is almost no audible hiss whereas it was slightly noticeable (with no
source playing) beforehand. I now have to be within a few inches to hear any
hiss.
The new Silver-1 was a small but substantial performance upgrade over
the Basic Silver that I was using on my universal player. It provides
noticeable improvements in the areas of musical involvment and detail retrieval.
I can't wait to hear the improvements that will come by adding Bybee
filters to the Power Bar (and most likely to my power amp's transformer,
possibly my speakers and my preamp). This hobby has a nasty effect on my bank
account balance for some reason : ).
Frank W (2 Silver-1 Power Cable, 1 Silver-2 Power Cable, Hubbell Power Outlet Box)
I am absolutely thrilled with the 2 Silver-1 power cable's at this early stage. I'm using one on
my Copland CTA 505 amp and one on my Naim CD5 cd player. What an amazing improvement!
Now I'm interested in your 4 outlet power outlet box with a 5' Silver-1 power
cable as well as trying the Silver-2 power cable.
Leif L (1 Silver-2 Power Cable)
Your Silver-2 sounds more open, detailed, and smoother in the highs than my previous upgraded power cable. The lows are deeper and stronger, with more control. Mid range is also cleaner. Overall, a more refined and "self-confident" power cable, and lacking the dullness of the stock cable as well as the coarseness of the 12 gauge upgrade Obviously, its design is well thought out and executed. I am very pleased.
